Online Shopping

I love online shopping. I think it is super convenient because I can order clothes online without actually going to the store. It ends up saving you a lot of time because you do not need to take time out of your day to go to the mall. Even though online shopping is convenient, there are some inconveniences. What are some of the inconveniences?

One negative aspect could be that the clothes might not fit you when they arrive. Since you are unable to try on the clothing you purchase online before you order it, you do not know what size you should order. This can be a problem because then you may need to go to the store or ship it back in order to get the correct size.

People may shop online because they think it will be more convenient, but some of the steps in the process  might actually  be inconvenient. It may seem easier than going to a store, but at the store you have more control over what you are able to purchase. Shopping online may be less convenient because not all of the items may be listed on the website. Another issue could be the item has an abnormality. You might not be able to see that while looking at the items online, but if you were in the store you would be able to see it.  

If people became more aware of some of the inconveniences to online shopping, people may not shop online as much. This could help people save time in the long run because they would be able to pick out the items in the store and would not need to return them in the fut

Documentary Summary

One thing that I learned from class on Wednesday is to not say what you saw in the documentary,but to say what the film portrayed. I feel like this is difficult for me because I always want to give a summary of what I saw. For my next revision, I need to edit my summary and use present verb tenses. Another thing I learned in class is to not use too much detail in the summary. Also to not open my paper with an analysis.

Reflection

I do not have much experience with documentary films. I have not watched many films. the ones that I have seen have been during school. I saw documentaries about historical figures and events in history. I have watched them on important American and world events, like wars and rallies. I do not have a favorite documentary. One reason why is that I never remember things from movies after I watched them. I also do not like watching movies or documentaries because it is hard for them to hold my attention throughout the movie.

Using a documentary film can help you to become a better writer. It can help you as a writer because the documentary can inspire you through the content. Documentaries can go into really in-depth topics that are normally only seen at surface level. This can help inspire people to write about this topic. It is easier to write something if you are inspired or moved by a topic. By watching a documentary you can find a topic that you might have thought was boring, but the way the film expanded on it made it interesting. This works the same for writing, by expanding on a topic and giving interesting details will allow for more people to want to read it. The more people that are reading your writing, the more feedback you will get on it. This feedback will help you to become a better writer. There might be some critiques of things you can change and some things you are doing well that are left in the comments under your writing. This can help you for the next article or blog you publish. This will allow for you to become a better writer.

After watching the documentary you chose you can feel inspired. This will allow for you to be able to write about the topic. By watching the documentary you might find out some facts that you did not know before or some facts that you want to look more into. By looking up the facts you find interesting you are able to expand more on the topic. By writing about a specific topic you will be able to inform others about certain topics you find interesting.

 Since the internet has become such a big part of everyone’s life, I believe people have become more comfortable on the internet. I feel like because of people being more comfortable, they are more willing to leave mean comments on other people's articles, especially because they can leave these comments anonymously and no one will never find out who they are. I feel that people have gained confidence by being behind a computer screen, so they are more likely to start a fight or argue with someone. I feel like people bully more through the internet than they would if they were in person. I feel like some ways to overcome this would be to have websites not be allowed to post these negative comments. Also, if the website does post these comments, the people who made the comments should be forced to use their actual name. If people post to these websites and their name appears, than they would be less likely to leave a negative comment. It is much easier to leave a mean comment if no one knows it was you who posted it.
